Fame is calling your name!

What would you do if you woke up to the news that one of your artistic pieces went viral? Are you really ready to have all eyes on you?

I have gone to countless auditions, cattle calls, expo events in hopes that somebody would take a chance on me. Come on...I can't be the only one! Please tell me at one point you too submitted to America's Got Talent, X-Factor, American Idol or at least thought about it? Somebody needs a golden ticket, baby! I sure could use one right now.

What To Do With Fame

“Talent is God-given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful."”

Wanting fame is not a bad thing. The question is, "What do you want to do with it?" I've struggled with this in various seasons. At first, I desired influence to make my name great. Now, I really hope that it can help me spread the name of Jesus. I want to be a brand ambassador for The Kingdom - periodt!

Having a platform that can reach many people is such a blessing! However, it does come with a lot of responsibility. It's amazing to study how Jesus dealt with fame himself. It's always been very interesting to me that a lot of the time at great heights of success in his ministry, Jesus went back into hiding in His secret place with The Father. I mean, don't get me wrong. He did have people coming for his neck...those religious leaders were wildin'. But yet, he consistently used his gifts for the benefit of others not really for self-recognition. So, I've been wondering... what is that supposed to personally look like?

You Got The Platform! Now What?

In the voice of Kendrick Lamar, "Be humble." I love how 1 Peter 5:6 explains that promotion should come under the authority of God in its proper time. Note to self: don't rush the process. God is going to place you in front of the people that he wants you to reach. The audience he has for you will be fulfilling whether it's twenty people or two million. In the meantime, pay attention to how others are already following you on your journey. It still matters how you present yourself and the type of messages you're sending out to the world around you.

Would you post everything that you do now if you had a pop-star's fan-base? #heartcheck

Your Creativity Is Significant

“The hardest thing to do is to work when nobody is watching.”

Please don't give up on creating simply because it feels like no one is supporting. What you contribute to creation is one-hundred percent significant! Never lose sight of this truth.

Be more committed to the creative vision God is giving you to produce than to the outcomes of appreciation or applause. Stop waiting for man. Can you believe that someone might actually be waiting on you to just go for it. You have no idea what kind of flock God wants to draw near to your obedience.

Walk in purpose. Don't worry! The people will catch up.
